Cold Email for a SaaS
September 30, 2026 · 5 min read
Cold email works when the reader recognizes their job in the first two lines. It fails when it sounds like a template that could go to anyone.
Write to a person who has the job
A role and a company you understand. Not a purchased list of "founders." If you cannot say why them, do not send it.
Four lines
What you noticed about the job. What the product does. The price or the single next step. One link. No "I hope this finds you well" and no paragraph about your journey.
Make the link prove it
They will open your site or your posts before they reply. Alma-scheduled slideshows of the same job are that proof. If the account is empty, the email feels like a guess. $29/month for 500 slides, or $199/month with no cap.
Make the posts for your app
Paste your App Store or website link. Alma writes, designs and schedules the slideshows.
Start in MakeSend a few, then read the replies
Twenty honest emails teach you the objection. Two hundred copies teach you nothing and annoy a market you may need later.
Stop if the reply is "who is this for"
The sentence is wrong. Fix the sentence before you write a follow-up sequence. A sequence will not rescue a vague offer.
