How to Get Your First SaaS Customers

September 30, 2026 · 5 min read

The first customers are not a funnel. They are people you can email because you know they have the problem.

Write the job in one sentence

The hour you remove. If the sentence needs a noun like "platform," it is not ready.

Show the screen in public

A slideshow of the job is enough. Alma drafts it from your site and schedules it, so you are not invisible between emails. $29/month for 500 slides, or $199/month with no cap.

Make the posts for your app

Paste your App Store or website link. Alma writes, designs and schedules the slideshows.

Start in Make

Send twenty notes, not a blast

Who they are, the problem, what you do, the price, one link. Stop when you have talked to the people who replied. Change the sentence if they describe the job differently.

Charge them

A free pilot that never ends is not a customer. A small price tells you if the job is real. You can grandfather that price later.

Do the setup yourself

The first customers are how you learn the onboarding. Write down every place they hesitate. That list is the product work, and the next post.
