Hooks for a Jet Lag and Travel Sleep App

September 30, 2026 · 5 min read

Jet lag apps get bookmarked and forgotten, because the post is about sleep in general and the problem only shows up on travel week. Tie the hook to a trip.

See how Alma automates this

The short report on how Alma turns an app link into posts that go out every day.

Hooks

  • "Landing at 7am and expected at a meeting."
  • "Redeye. Do you sleep on the plane or not?"
  • "First night in a hotel when your body thinks it's 4pm."
  • "Traveling east is the rude one. Here is the rough plan."
  • "A slideshow to screenshot before the flight, not during it."
  • "What to do with the nap that ruins the first night."
  • "Kids asleep, you are not, wrong time zone."
  • "The night before an early flight, when you are too wired to sleep."

Make it usable offline in spirit

Travelers have bad wifi and no patience. The post should be savable: a short plan by slide, not a link they must open in the air. Then the last slide says the app holds the plan for the city they are flying to, if that is what it does.

Be careful with health claims

Light, caffeine, and melatonin advice gets medical fast. If you are not ready to own that advice, stick to schedule shape: when to seek light, when to avoid a long nap, when to try to be in bed. Suggest they ask a clinician before they take anything. The download is for the plan, not for a pill.
