How to Market a Sleep App on TikTok: The 'Can't Sleep?' Playbook
September 30, 2026 · 7 min read
Some of the most-viewed slideshows on TikTok are simple: a dark photo, one line — "Can't sleep?!" — and a playlist or app as the answer. Sleep is one of the few problems almost everyone has, and your audience is scrolling exactly when they feel it.
Make the posts for your app
Paste your App Store or website link. Alma writes, designs and schedules the slideshows.
Start in MakeHere's how to turn that into installs for your sleep app.
Why sleep content works
- Perfect timing. People open TikTok in bed when they can't sleep — the exact moment your app helps.
- It's emotional. "I know that feeling when you lie in bed but can't sleep" gets shared because people feel seen.
- It's universal. Your audience isn't a niche; it's anyone who's ever been awake at 2am.
The format: 3 slides
- The feeling. One relatable line on a moody photo: a dark bedroom, a city at night, headphones on a pillow.
- The answer. "So I made a sleep playlist / app that finally works for me."
- The ask. "Link in bio 👇" or "Search [app name] on the App Store".
Keep text large and centered, away from the bottom of the screen where TikTok's caption covers it. Plain white text on a dark photo is all you need.
15 hooks to copy
- "Can't sleep?!"
- "I know that feeling when you lie in bed but can't sleep"
- "POV: it's 3am and your brain won't stop"
- "Nah it's fine… I won't fall asleep anyway 😔"
- "Things that actually helped my insomnia"
- "If you're reading this at 2am, this is for you"
- "Stop scrolling and try this tonight"
- "Why you wake up at 3am every night"
- "The 4-7-8 trick nobody told you about"
- "Songs that put me to sleep in 10 minutes"
- "Overthinking at night? Read this"
- "My bedtime routine after years of bad sleep"
- "Your phone isn't why you can't sleep. This is"
- "Rate my sleep playlist"
- "Go to sleep. Seriously. Here's how"
When to post
Post when your audience is in bed: between 10pm and 1am in their time zone. If your users are in several countries, schedule posts for each region's night. A scheduler with posts-per-day settings makes this easy to keep up.
Find a winner, then repeat it
The best sleep accounts on TikTok don't reinvent every post. When a hook and image work, they post the same idea again and again with small changes — a different photo, a slightly different line. A format that earns a million views once often keeps earning around a million every time.
So: post one to three slideshows a night for 30 days, note which hook each one used, and then make ten more of your top three.
Turn viewers into subscribers
- Make the link easy. Bio link straight to your App Store page.
- Say it three times. On the last slide, in the caption, and in a pinned comment.
- Match the promise. If the slideshow says "fall asleep in 10 minutes", your App Store page should say the same thing in its first screenshot.
Tools like Alma write and design these slideshows from your App Store link, so a week of night-time posts takes minutes, not evenings.
