How to Get Beta Testers for Your App

September 30, 2026 · 5 min read

A beta is not a smaller launch. It is ten people who will tell you the truth.

Ask people who have the job

Not a general "testers wanted" post to strangers who collect beta invites. One community, or the replies on a post about the problem. Alma can keep those problem posts going so you have somewhere to point when you ask. $29/month for 500 slides, or $199/month with no cap.

Make the posts for your app

Paste your App Store or website link. Alma writes, designs and schedules the slideshows.

Start in Make

Give them one task

"Log yesterday's invoices." "Finish day 1." A blank "try the app" gets you silence. A task gets you the screen where they stuck.

Use TestFlight or a Play testing track

Tell them the steps in three lines. If joining the beta is harder than the app, you will learn nothing except that your instructions are long.

Talk to them in the first two days

A short call or a voice note. What they expected versus what they saw. That gap is the screenshot and the first public post.

Do not recruit a hundred

You cannot talk to a hundred. Five honest sessions beat a hundred installs you never hear from.
