How to Get Your First 1,000 App Users
September 30, 2026 · 6 min read
One thousand users is a month or two of a message that works, plus a store page that converts it. It is rarely a launch day.
Get the first 20 by hand
Send the app to people who have the problem and will answer you. Fix the sentence they stumble on. If twenty people who care will not install, a thousand strangers will not either.
Publish the sentence every day
Use Alma to draft and schedule the slideshows so the daily post is not a willpower contest. Keep the words specific to the job those twenty understood. $29/month for 500 slides, or $199/month with no cap.
Make the posts for your app
Paste your App Store or website link. Alma writes, designs and schedules the slideshows.
Start in MakeDouble the posts that caused a store visit
You do not need a new format. You need ten variations: a different example, the same promise, the same last slide.
Remove steps between the post and the install
One link. A screenshot that repeats the promise. A paywall, if you have one, only after they have seen the app do the thing.
Do not change the audience at user 200
The temptation is to widen the message to grow faster. That resets you to zero clarity. Stay on the same person until 1,000 of them have a reason to be there.
Then, and only then, test a second audience with its own posts.
