How to Market a Prayer App

September 30, 2026 · 5 min read

Prayer apps die on vagueness. "Spirituality for modern life" tells a religious person you are not for them, and tells everyone else nothing.

Make the posts for your app

Paste your App Store or website link. Alma writes, designs and schedules the slideshows.

Start in Make

Name the tradition

If the app is for one practice, say it in the first slide: a daily office, salah reminders, a Christian reading plan, shabbat times, a novena. People search that way. They also leave when a post implies you cover every faith and the app does not.

Useful posts

  • "The reading for this morning, in one screen."
  • "A reminder that does not use a joke as the notification."
  • "When you missed a day. You just open today's."
  • "A short prayer for the commute, if that belongs in your tradition."

Have someone who practices review the words before you post. A wrong name or a casual paraphrase will cost you the only audience who cared.

What not to do

Do not use sacred text as a caption gimmick you have not read. Do not promise outcomes (a prayer that "gets results"). Do not mix a tradition's practice with a generic mindfulness script and hope nobody notices.

The last slide is the reminder or the reading, whichever the app is. Invite them to open today's, not to "start a wellness journey."
