How to Write an App Store Description

September 30, 2026 · 5 min read

The description is not a manifesto. It is the post, with room for a few more lines.

First lines are the promise

Who it is for and what they can do today. Someone skimming should not need the third paragraph. Use the same sentence as your best slideshow.

Then the steps

Three to five things the app actually does. Verbs. "Log a feed." "See who owes what." Not "redefine wellness."

Then the limit

Price, subscription, or what is free. People trust a listing that does not make them discover the cost inside the app. If Alma wrote a post that states the job, reuse that wording here so the hop feels continuous.

Make the posts for your app

Paste your App Store or website link. Alma writes, designs and schedules the slideshows.

Skip the keyword stuffing

A readable paragraph that includes the real search phrase will beat a block of repeated words. Stuffing reads as spam and does not explain the product.

Read it next to screenshot one

If they disagree, fix the screenshot or the paragraph until they are one thought. Then keep your TikTok and Instagram posts on that thought too.
