How Much Does It Cost to Market an App

September 30, 2026 · 5 min read

There is no standard marketing budget for an app. There are three bills people mix up. Only one has a price you can read on a page today.

1. Alma — the posts

$29/month for 500 slides, or $199/month with no cap. That covers slideshows and carousels written from your app link, and scheduling to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Threads or LinkedIn. This is the cost of showing up every day. Start here.

2. Ads — the auction

Meta, TikTok, and Apple will estimate a cost inside their own tools after you give them a country and a creative. Do not budget from a number you saw in a thread. The estimate in the ad account is the quote.

3. A person — a retainer you negotiate

A freelancer or an agency costs whatever you agree. Ask what they will publish in a month and who writes the words. If they cannot say, you are buying meetings.

What to spend first

Alma, until a post sends people to the store. Then a small ad on that post, using the estimate in the ad tool. A person comes when you are drowning in replies, not when you have posted twice.

The expensive mistake is a large ad budget on a message you have not watched anyone understand for free.
