What to Do Before Launching an App
September 30, 2026 · 5 min read
Launch day is when the link works. The work that makes it matter happens before.
Write the sentence
Who it is for and what they do on the first open. If you cannot say it, you are not ready to be found.
Put ten people on the build
Watch them miss the button. Fix that. Their words are the first screenshot. Their shrug is a sign the sentence is wrong.
Start posting before the store says yes
Alma can draft slideshows from your site about the problem, and schedule them, so the account is not born on launch morning. $29/month for 500 slides, or $199/month with no cap.
Make the posts for your app
Paste your App Store or website link. Alma writes, designs and schedules the slideshows.
Start in MakeMake the listing match those posts
Same promise, same words, price visible if you charge. A launch that sends people to a confusing store page wastes the only day they were paying attention.
Tell the people who asked
A short note with the link. That list is the launch. A directory badge is optional and late.
