What to Post When Your Dating App Has No Users Yet

September 30, 2026 · 5 min read

Dating apps are useless alone. Pretending otherwise with fake profiles is how you get a permanent one-star review. Market the gathering, not a ghost town.

Make the posts for your app

Paste your App Store or website link. Alma writes, designs and schedules the slideshows.

Start in Make

Start smaller than your pride

One city, one age range or one community you are actually part of, one week. "Live in Austin on May 6" is a post. "The global alternative to swiping" with 40 users is a joke people will finish for you.

What to post before launch

  • Who it is for, and who should not bother yet
  • The day it opens
  • The number you want in the room before you open matches, if you have a real threshold
  • How you will tell them if you delay

A waitlist is fine. A waitlist with no date and no city is a newsletter.

What not to post

Fake chats. Stock couples. "Thousands of singles" you do not have. Bought accounts to pad the ratio. If you need a manual first event in a bar to seed the app, post the event. Real people in a room are a more honest start than a feed of nobody.

When the room is big enough to match, then post the mechanic. Not before.
