Hooks for a Picky-Eater Dinner App

September 30, 2026 · 5 min read

Picky eating is a weeknight problem, often with kids, sometimes with a partner, sometimes with you. Do not mock the person who has the limit. The cook is who you are helping.

The short report on how Alma turns an app link into posts that go out every day.

Hooks

  • "One dinner, one part they can eat, no second meal."
  • "A list of safe foods you stop renegotiating."
  • "The noodle night that still feeds the adult."
  • "What to serve when the texture is the problem, not the flavor."
  • "A rotation of ten dinners so you are not inventing Wednesday."
  • "Deconstructed is a strategy, not a failure."
  • "The grocery list for the meals they already accept."
  • "New food on the table, no lecture attached."

Language

Say "selective" or "picky" the way your users do, and be consistent. Do not diagnose a disorder in a caption. If a family is dealing with something clinical, your app is not the treatment. It is dinner.

Show the plate plan

A slide that splits "shared" and "on the side" is more useful than a speech about patience. Parents save the plan. They download the app when next week's plan is already sitting there.
